| Stewardship Ministry
- The primary goal of the Stewardship Ministry is to promote
the concept of Christian stewardship.
The Ministry's work is
aimed at empowering Blessed Sacrament parishioners to live
their faith as Christian stewards who generously offer
financial and volunteer support to our church and school as
a means of giving thanks to God. The Ministry promotes the
concept that stewardship is a way of life, not simply an
appeal for funds.
This is done by providing basic information, resources, and
ideas to help implement and nurture stewardship in our
parish. The future of Blessed Sacrament Church and School
and support for the members of our parish and community
depends on our collective efforts to promote stewardship as
a way of life.
Stewardship parishes are
characterized by prayer, hospitality, education,
celebration, accountability, generosity and involvement of
the laity in every aspect of parish life. Christian
stewardship provides spirituality that a lay person can take
home from church, exercise at work, and express through
personal involvement in both the community and the church.
Being a disciple and practicing stewardship are aspects of
the same reality.
The Stewardship Ministry is primarily responsible for
stewardship awareness and the annual stewardship programs.
The ministry's responsibilities include developing an annual
plan for the Stewardship Ministry; providing in-service and
continuing education programs for members of the Stewardship
Ministry; carrying out the stewardship effort of time,
talent and treasure on an annual basis; encouraging support
for stewardship through focus on stewardship in Sunday
homilies, general intercessions and the Sunday bulletin;
recruiting individuals and / or couples to share their
personal testimonies about stewardship; preparing and
keeping current a time and talent list of parish activities
and organizations; developing a welcoming program for new
members of the parish; and, sharing the message and spirit
of Christian Stewardship throughout the parish.
