Hospitality: All will be welcomed and actively invited to
participate and will be assisted in taking part fully in our parish
community. A special effort is to be made to encourage young people
of the parish to share in our community. Participation: All
will be encouraged and provided with opportunities to share in the
responsibility for the well-being, direction and fulfillment of the
mission of our church community. Our goal will be to establish a
"sense of partnership and belonging" in each member of our parish.
Special effort will be made to seek out and solicit support of
passive members of our parish community and encourage them to renew
their participation in all aspects of parish life.
Formation: Opportunities will be provided for all to learn
what it means to be a Catholic and experience a Christian life. "We
can not love what we do not know" will be our guide. Special
emphasis will be given to involving parents with their children, attracting the young people of our parish,
and attracting all people to understand, explore more freely and
embrace their faith.
Liturgy: "Full, conscious and active participation" in the
Mass and Sacraments will be our goal. All will be encouraged to know
and live the liturgy rather than to attend as spectators. The
ministries of the parish community should facilitate this goal.
School: "Encouraging families
to be closer to the parish community
life" is a central purpose of our parish school. Our goal will
be for our parish school to be welcoming and accessible to all. Our
parish school will encourage participation in the parish life by
school families.
Ministries: Ministries in our parish community
are
initiated and designed to accomplish our mission. We seek
participation by all members of our parish community of all ages. Opportunities for ministry will be regularly and actively
communicated to all.
Communication: Every available means to provide
information about parish life will be regularly and actively
communicated through the bulletins, mailings, school, the school
website (www.scbss.org),
and the church website (www.blsac.org).
"Well done, My good and faithful
servant."
